Waverley Council

Residents can make submissions to Waverley Council at any time right up until a DA is determined. To ensure full consideration by the assigned council assessment planner, iObject prescribes an additional two to three-week ‘Informal Deadline’, depending on the scale of the project in question.

If there is insufficient time to produce a detailed submission within Council’s notification period, we recommend seeking a deadline extension directly from the council officer, which iObject can negotiate on your behalf.

Submissions must address planning law considerations rather than general opposition.

Experience Highlight: QUEENS PARK

Alterations and additions to dwelling including demolition of the rear part of dwelling and construction of a two-storey rear addition.

Address: No. 44 Fitzgerald Street, Queens Park, NSW

Application: DA183/2025

Services Provided: DA Deficiency Audit & Principal Objection

Impact Risks

  • Elements such as a bulky rear addition and expansive dormer windows would have a dominating visual impact on adjoining properties.

  • A lack of building separation would have caused our Clients to feel ‘hemmed-in’ whilst enjoying their private open space.

  • First-floor windows were located directly adjacent to our Client on a first-floor level. The type of privacy screening devices proposed did not improve out Client’s situation but rather deflected views to another part of the private open space.

Determination: Council ultimately agreed with iObject’s evaluation on numerous fronts including heritage concerns, building separation and privacy. As a result, numerous conditions were placed upon the DA including substantial design changes that ultimately benefited our Client.

What iObject Achieved
iObject's Principal Objection focused on addressing several design deficiencies, ensuring the development would retain the existing character of the street and protect the quality of life of neighbouring residents. The approved application reflected a significant improvement over the original design, ultimately safeguarding our client's property and interests.
